Once you have completed the Imperial Audience quest, you'll start off the first act of the game proper with this fairly straightforward quest. Several missions, such as In Ciri's Footsteps, Pyres of Novigrad, and Destination: Skellige, will have been started in the diary when Geralt approaches the Hanged Man's Tree. Some of these quests may have dialogue choices that will alter the ending of the game. Main Quests are the main storyline of the game that can have a major effect towards the endings.
